Nifty Thrifty is a 501(c)3 nonprofit supporting the Mason County Senior Activities Association and Center. Thank you for shopping, donating, and volunteering with us! Please note we are not affiliated with the hospital or other stores.

Donation notes:

  • Please call before you donate, as donation hours may vary. Thank you donors for your generous support – and for your patience, as at times we get full and need to catch up with processing them!
  • Donations are typically accepted from 11:00 AM through 4:00 PM on donation days.
  • Please put clean and sellable donations in bags or boxes we can keep. We do not want or accept broken or dirty items. We do not repair any donations. To clarify, this means stop bringing us your garbage. Nothing moldy or missing pieces. No car seats, mattresses, printers, or blinds with string pulls. Also, note the only TVs we now accept are flat screens. Thank you again for your consideration and for donating quality items.

HISTORY
The Nifty Thrifty store was conceived by the Mason County Senior Activities Association (MCSAA) in 1988 to provide an ongoing revenue source so the Mason County Senior Activities Center could be self-funding. Hattie and John Luhm championed the idea with the help of MCSAA Board President Lou Redman and Center Director Marge Emsley-Brown.

Nifty Thrifty remains the major funding source of MCSAA to this day. After 25 years, the store relocated in September 2013 to the former Activities Center building at 826 W. Railroad Avenue.
